Default Eid is out of this world!!!
"We have not created the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play. None of this have We created without an inner truth: but most of them understand it not." (44:38-39)

This is a recent article I came across today. My personal opinion on space exploration: Alhumdulillah, we Muslims are proving to the world that Islam is not a backwards religion and that science and health are one of our utmost concerns in this dunya. However, far too much money is spent on sending a spacecraft (aprox. 450 million per mission) and these spacecrafts alone can easily cost over a billion dollars. Lets not forget about the countless repairs and crew-less missions to repair Hubble Telescopes, space stations, etc. which easily add even more costs to this never ending exploration. It’s insane how much money is spent. It’s insane how much money is wasted. But is it really wasted?

I think about the families that live on one US dollar per day, if that. Some live on 1$ a month. People fail to realise how much a billion dollars really is and what it can do to the poorest of the world. Im not talking about the poorest in America who have electricity and running hot water; Im talking about the starving women and children who drink cholera infested water and live in the worst conditions possible known to man in these "modern" times. These are the people we should be helping, these are the women and children we should be saving. Why search for new frontiers when we are already lost at home?

Why do we search the heavens and the stars? Is it to secure a new location because our times on Earth are coming to an end? As Muslims, we already know our final destination lays here on Earth, so what’s the need to leave when Allah swt. has that part already planned for us?

O assembly of Jinns and men when you can penetrate regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate them! Not without power (or authority) will you be able to pass." (55:33)

Do we need space exploration to help Islam? In Surat ar-Rahman

5 years ago I made this post.

, glad this forum is still alive and running well.

Seems to be a lot of small arguments here and there, but in the end we are all blessed to be Muslims and should be thankful to our Lord and creator.

Never forget that brothers and sisters.
