I read that it was easy to get Bahrain citizenship. Anyone know if this is true? and if so, would having Bahraini citizenship make it easier to travel to saudi arabia without need for visa?

Unlikely.

The riots there are because the government is trying to make it easier for foreigners to get citizenship. The majority of the natives are shia, and the government want to make it easy for the substantial number of sunni guest workers to be naturalised, which would mean shias would no longer constitute the majority.

So if we see an egypt style uprising its doubtful immigration laws will be relaxed.

Whats happening in Bahrain is a disgusting!! Many of those cruel security forces are sunni from outside bahrain. They are killing people just because they are speaking out against the monarchy. This monarchy is another regime which needs to go. No doubt the Saudi regime is helping this tyrant uin his security clampdown.

why you would need bahraini citizenship for going to saudia ? if yo want to go for umrah, you can go throught proper channel. Its easier that way. If you want to go for visit, then i dont know about it

why you would need bahraini citizenship for going to saudia ?

its nice in the Gulf to have a GCC passport you get to go through a special quick customs cue and have no visa issues

its a bit like having an EU country passport in Europe


as for Bahrain bringing in lots of Sunnis that makes a lot of sense.
