Default Is a public debate between Dr. Zakir Naik and the current Pope possible?
The late Ahmed Deedat requested to have a debate with the then Pope John Paul II. What about now? So we can sort out the truth - once and for all......? Pope Benedict XVI has turned down the offer with Dr. Zaik.

Topics would include:

1.Is Jesus God
2.The Truth about Trinity
3.Muhammad in the Bible
4.Is the Bible God's word
5.The Original Sin

and many others.

Or is the Pope not well-versed in the Bible so have such a friendly debate / dialogue / symposium?

Look what the Pope has said about Islam

Why would the great Pope will even debate Naik? Pope is utterly respected by atleast 1 billion people...what is Naik?

Secondly , Dr Naik is not "unbeatable" etc ... Sound Christian apologists can tackle naik easily..Do you know about Dr James White ? Dr William Lane Craig? etc? Imam Shabbir Ally , Basam Zwadi , and even Sami Zataari is better than Naik. Naik has absolutely NO experience of "debating" ..he is a wonderful "speecher" (if thats a word lol) , but debate is different..

I don't agree with the "great Pope" part (I don't know how a Muslim could even make that statement)...but I don't think having Zakir Naik debate would be such a good idea.

I would have been comfortable with Ahmed Deedat debating a Pope, but not Dr. Zakir Naik.

Do Popes even know how to debate? they seem like masterful politicians who know how to ride up the absurdly complicated hierarchy of their churches. We have no such comparable hierarchy - and so the leaders of our ummah - the religious leaders - are of a completely different quality to the Pope

I agree with Auzer. People in desperation thinks Dr. Naik is a master in comparative study whilst he is not. He would have no standing when others will talk about philosophical reasoning. Dr. Naik being a literalist is devoid of such deeper understanding. He is better suited for literalistist christian.
Ahmed Deedat by far a better candidate.
Also debating with pope is useless on the ground the pope is not a debater.

Hahaha! May Allah bless you sister, the thread title made me laugh

For those attacking Naik, Fear Allah at least in Ramadan, you can easily make the point that there are better debaters without attacking the man.

I don't think pope would agree to debate any scholars, no matter how calibre the scholar is. It's too much at stake for them. Vatican has been conducting many behind the scene "operations" to strengthen the influence of christianity, to safeguard their own influence and wealth and so on. Having their theology foundations shattered is definitely the last thing they want.

It would be interesting if all their secret documents are to be released to the masses.

Nothing much will happen.
Wiki Leaks told the inside things about US manipulations around the world.
Effect on the world's attitude towards US? Nothing.
We know lots of bad things about the deviant behaviour of bishops around the word.
What has it lead to? Nothing.
