Jews were victorious in that war,not because of arms....but because of our own weaknesses.

The great champion of Arab cause Nasir, was proudly proclaiming himself to be the inheritor of Pharaoh, while the Jews soldiers were reciting the old testament even in their trenches when free of fighting.Nasir,s full attention was to win the war through 'Soath al Arab',while the Jews were actively contemplating how to destroy the whole Arab air Force in one single strike. The motivating force behind Arabs was 'Arab Nationalism' (not Islam),for Jews it was a matter of survival of their faith, race and community.

Iqbal has very beautifully stated:

[I]"Muhammade Arabi se he Alame Arabi"

The Arab world exists because of their spiritual and emotional connection with Muhammade Arab, sallaho alai he wa sallam.

How easily this lesson was forgotten by the then Arab leaders !

Let me quote,what was written,on the death of Nasir,in 'Aljamhooria',the date Octor 1st 1970.

"The prophet of this new age has passed away.Jamal Nasir died on the same day of the year, when Tajalli of 'Meraj' was granted to Muhammad Rasoolullah saas, and He (Nasir) was invited to sidrat ul muntaha,to mend his broken heart, just like it was done for Prophet Muhammad Saas.Nasir has not died,he is on a journey to the skies like the Prophets and Quddisi,s"

"O,Jamal Abdul Nasir...O,Prophet of Arab nationalism,O,Prophet of Freedom, your name and your body reached the skies on the blessed night of 'Meraj'...you met Quddosi,s,and you became a part of those blessed souls who create life in the skies and on earth"

"O,The one,the like of whom this world has never seen, steadfast in front of problems, and mending them whenever and in whatever way he wanted"

"New Kalima La ilaha Illallah-Nasir Habib ul ah.Our ancestors used to sing your songs, you were like a dream to them, they waited for 4000 years for you, till you came"

These were just a few glimpses of the personality cult culture,in which Arabs were illogically but emotionally involved, while the Jews were preparing for the war with a cool mind.

Now let us see a few examples of how,in the emotional turmoil of Nationalism, the Arabs rebelled against Islam and the Nabuwwat of Muhammad sallaho alai he wa sallam.:

The Arab nation asked for help from Ilah, looked into the old traditions of Islam and Christinity, tried to take some comfort from the capitalist system, but to no avail...then the Arab nation took heart, raised his head and fixed his eyes on the newly born 'communist Arab individual'.

"The traditions which has made an Arab young man as a useless guy,who bows his head before taqqdeer, and who can only recite La bola wa la quasars ill a billah"

"The creation of a new Arab society demands the creation of a new Arab communist individual, who believes that ALLAH,RELIGION,CAPITALISM...in short all those traditions which ruled the Arabs, are to be put as Mummies in history museum"
.

Much more can be written, but I think these are sufficient reasons for an Arab Muslim nation to be put to the worst kind of defeat, not by the hands of Jews....but by our own hands,as we had gone faraway from our life source ie ISLAM
Interesting info about Nasir from wikipedia. Can anyone verify this from a reliable source ?

On 28 February 1955, Israeli troops attacked the Egyptian-held Gaza Strip. Although Israel declared the raid necessary to suppress Palestinian fedayeen raids, it was unanimously condemned by the UN Security Council. Nasser did not feel that Egypt was ready for a confrontation and did not retaliate. His inability to respond to Israeli military action constituted a blow to his growing popularity, since it demonstrated the weakness of his armed forces. Nasser felt if he was to maintain Egypt's position as leader of the Arab world, he needed to acquire modern weapons to arm his military with. When it became apparent that Western countries would not supply Egypt under financial and military terms acceptable to it, Nasser turned to the Soviet bloc and concluded a satisfactory armaments agreement with Czechoslovakia in September 1955. Through the "Czech arms deal," he enhanced his position as an Arab leader defying the West. The Israelis also re-militarized the Awja Demilitarized Zone on the Egyptian border in September.[58]
