![]() I would like to know what was the stance of the 'Ulama during the reign of Akbar. According to the limited knowledge and reading that I have done on this I understand that there where 'Ulama who issued a fatwa declaring Akbar a heretic. Can anyone either explain that portion of history - Akbar and Islam, or provide some reading material to read further into the topic. ![]() |

Salaam
One of the best books I have read on the topic: Saviours of the Islamic Spirit Volume III - Entirely dedicated to Mujaddid Alf-thani Ahmed Sirhindi And yes, Akbar essentially tried to create his own hotch potch perennialistic religion. That's why he fell into zanaadaqa, bid'ah and fahshaa' The entire series is simply brilliant and I would recommend every Muslim to read it: http://kitaabun.com/shopping3/produc...products_id=94 |

Sadly - don't think that volume is available online. Also - if you don't mind me asking a personal question brother - are you ethnically from Afrika as well? Don't think I have ever come across any African Deobandi brothers. Wassalaam |
