Assalamualaikum everyone!
This thread is meant to provide readers with Islamic reminders that are sure to benefit us as humans, both spiritually and physically. I would like to share here ahadith and ayaat along with articles and videos from the muslim ummah which i personally found to be quite beneficial and would love for my muslim brothers and sisters to benefit from as well. May this thread be acceptable to Allah, Ameen. Reminder #1: (btw, i started this thread in mid Ramadan 1433AH) Yesterday i made a dua during the short break after 4 rakahs of taraweeh, that i be in the first row of the congregation. Alhumdulillah, Allah Ta'ala immediately accepted it and a minute later i found myself praising Allah for giving me the opportunity to be in the first row during taraweeh for the first time this Ramadan. And yea, it is a very big achievement. Abu huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If the people knew the reward for pronouncing the Adhan and for standing in the first row (in congregational prayers) and found no other way to get that except by drawing lots they would draw lots..." [Bukhari and Muslim] Subhanallah! If we only knew the reward of being in the first row, we would have competed for it like anything.. With this Hadith in mind, getting in the first row is as good as winning a lottery at the masjid! Alhumdulillah. But unfortunately one can often find people who are 'content' sitting down on the second, third, or fourth row even if the first row is half empty when they get to the masjid. So lets not be left behind and strive to be in the first row or as close as possible to the first row whenever we go to the masjid for salaah! And its not just the first row. Being as near as possible to the first is very good too. Narrated Al-Bara' ibn Azib: The Prophet(pbuh) used to pass through the row from one side to the other; [he used to set out chests and shoulders in order, and say: Do not be irregular. And he would say: "Allah and His angels bless those who are near the first rows." [Sunan Abu Dawud] Calling the Azaan may not be possible for all of us, but we can definitely be in the first row for salaah (prayer). May Allah make us all of the Sabiqoon (those who compete to be foremost in good) and accept our good deeds. Ameen.
