Do good to others as Allah has done good to you. (Qur’an 28:77) • During the Olympics this Ramadan, there will be millions of people visiting the UK. Their impression of Islam can depend on YOU. Many shopkeepers, cashiers, waiters, taxi drivers, bus drivers, not to mention the general public they will share the streets with, will be MUSLIM. • What would our beloved PROPHET (pbuh) do if he was in your shoes? No doubt, he would have been as kind, loving, courteous, generous and HOSPITABLE as he always was. • This summer, let’s revive his sunnah and “smile”, “feed the people”, “spread the word of peace” and please Allah. These Olympics, be an Ambassador for your Deen. Logon to ‘prophetichospitality.wordpress.com’ to read the full article. What you can do: (Always with the intention of pleasing Allah; representing the Prophet (pbuh) and his deen; serving Allah’s creation and bringing them closer to him.) All of us: • Smile! • Be polite and courteous: use words of thanks, greeting and courtesy, e.g., salam, hello, good morning, thank you, jazakallah khayran, you’re welcome, please, have a good day, barakallah feek, etc. • Be patient and courteous to all motorists and pedestrians when out and about. • Give food to your neighbours, colleagues, friends, customers and visitors. • Spread the word to all Muslims of the Prophet’s hospitality. • Make du’a for all of creation. People working with the public: • Treat all customers with dignity and respect, as if they were your own family guests. • Treat women how we would like our mothers, wives and daughters to be treated. • Be completely honest in all dealings. • Ramadan is the month of generosity; give people discounts, extra change, freebies and food. Community leaders: • Take the initiative to spread this message in your communities. • Print and distribute this literature. • Gather your community and discuss what positive things you can do. Spread the message Olympic Poster Square2.jpg |
