These weapons basically support failing US economy and secure a lot of US jobs. Tactically they are of no use to Saudees and cannot be effectively used against the Army of Mehdi (whenever that happens).

Against the Army of Mehdi, Saudi Army will need close quarter weapons and skills; something which they neither have skills nor weapons for. I sincerely believe that Saudi Army will GET MASSACRED against the Army of Mehdi because:

a) They will not be able to Carpet bomb Makkah or Madina
b) They will not be able to indiscriminately fire on Haramain (or in surrounding areas or neighbourhoods)

Saudi Army have no combat skills, no experience in this sort of battle and no weapons of the type. The only Muslim Army which has skills to deal with it is “Pakistan Army” so more than likely you will see the APOSTATES OF PAKISTAN deploy and deal with the threat of Army of Mehdi

The restructuring and restricting of Pakistan Army has been undergoing for some time to enable them to deal with CQB and this is what you need against Army of Mehdi

US also have no need for these expensive planes and weapons so they are dumping them on the Saudees. If you look at the debates within US & UK they have a lot of these “Cold-War style” weapons which they cannot use in the “War on Terror (upon Muslim Mujahideen)”.

Remember that UK is dumping Euro fighters into Saudia as well:

Eurofighter is outdated, expensive and a piece of ^$$&$% and UK knows it...
If the Afghans of today are indeed those of the black flags, they'll have taken out Pakistan's Army (or converted it) before the Mahdi ever arrives. The hadith only mention wars between the Mahdi and the Arabs (first the Saudis and other Gulf Arabs I presume, but there's specific mention of an army from Syria that gets swallowed up by the ground outside Madinah).

from my recollection ( forgive my mistakes) it mentions the direction of Sham which includes Syria. This could mean any area that includes Iraq, Iran, Syria etc.

So custodians of the Holly places will be protected by a 90 billion dollar arms deal. I wonder what the pro democracy will say about this, considering how KSA treats its women and minority groups (often Muslim migrant labour).
imagine if the saudis invested 90 billion into their country to improve it
