There is nothing as "Islamic" inventions.... Inventions are only scientific.
Also , how can you , a Pakistani , take pride in Arabs'/Persians' inventions? ![]() It were Arab , Persian , Indian , Greek , Chinese etc etc inventions....Calling them "Muslim inventions" or "Christian inventions" etc is futile. Muslims , ALL OVER THE WORLD , should now come out of the past and start working--most aggressively--towards science and technology , R&D , economic independence & prosperity , education , industrialization , political stability etc etc etc...This can be the BIGGEST service to Islam in today's age... To free Muslim societies from the Western influence and Western claws , above mentioned way is the only way! .... Plus : Great share of the works of geniuses from the past... |

I've never understood people who refer to the period when Muslims indulged in science, inventions and etc as "Islam's golden age" Surely the golden age of Islam was when Hadhrat Muhammad Al-Mustafa (sallahu alayhi wasallam) and his Sahaba (ra) were alive? Also Muslims should stop dwelling on the past in terms of inventions, it's time for us to try a better the Islamic world in this age.

So many muslims point to great inventions from a thousand years ago as evidence of Islamic superiority over the West. notice the two names. also how do you define an 'invention'? only hardware cannot be called an 'invention'. though this is how the general term is understood by laymen. research papers published in journals are all 'inventions' as they find something new in the field of science. most often the 'invention' is a new technique or improvement on an existing one via new methods. it might look dry to laymen but technically this is really hard work. for my thesis and masters in general i research a lot of literature and i see many muslim names. though what really matters is what they are doing for muslims. they are unfortunately doing nothing. but not all are the same: Dr. Mohammad shoaib the CEO and founder of Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering has around 80 jounral publications to the best of my knowledge!...80!!...i am trying since february to get one conference publication (conference < journal) but 80!...and he is in his 40s or early 50s at best. and i am sure there are many many people out there. hint: anyone who is a PhD has 'invented' something new. otherwise he won't be a PhD. there are PhDs on this forum. |
