Default How come many Muslims don't finish the food on their plate?
Because it's a Sunnah and you are rewarded. Many times I have seen at dinner parties at my house or friends', weddings and especially iftaar parties right now so much food is wasted?

People aren't thoughtful enough that the best method is to eat in small quantities, finish what's on your plate and take more instead of heaping food on the plate and then struggling to finish it.

If you aren't sure if a dish is going to be nice take a very small amount so it isn't wasted.

Finish what's on your plate (leaving the bones, etc) and wipe clean with your fingers - another Sunnah. Then washing up is faster and you need a smaller amount of water and washing up detergent!

I was at an iftaar party few days ago and I felt like shouting to the people who left food on their plate.

I don't know about non Muslim religions if it's stated to finish what's on your plate and not to waste food but in Islam it is.

Never heard of that ...I think you mean eating a little bit less then you need.
That has nothing to do with the habit of wasting food .
I am not sure even if that has any relation with being a Muslim or not .

How do make the connection ?
