A Gift for all The following is widely known as Durood Rasul Numa.. Allahumma Swalli Ala Muhammadin wa Itratihi bi Adadi Kulli Ma'lum Mil'Laka it was given with common ijaza to all by Hazrat Syed Hasan Rasul Numa a great waliullah.. it seems he was blessed by this durood to make the ziarat of our beloved Nabi as a karamat to others.. and hence was titled as Rasul numa.. it has many other fazail apart from seeing our beloved Nabi in dreams.. it has been recorded in quite a few books and i have taken it from Irshad e Rahmani wa Fadhl Yazdani by Hazrat Maulana Muhammed Ali Mongheri sahab ( one of the founders of Nadwatul Ulema) and he quotes from his Shaikh Hazrat Maulana Fazlur Rahman sahab Ganj Muradabadi who used to recite it daily.. the method is to read the blessed durood 1100 times daily.. and Hazrat Maulana Ganj Muradabadi sahab had not specified any time for it.. but it is mentioned in some other book to make a habit of fixing any particular time for it.. so if u happen to get ziarat.. mashallah.. and if u gain its karamat then u owe me a ziarat.. duas.. wa assalam.. |

Sorry for the random question but, is it necessary to keep count of the number of salawat, tasbeehat etc. that one does, or can one just repeat continously for a length of time and randomly swithcing to another? Do the numbers (100, 1000 etc) have any particular benefit? Sometimes I find it difficult to keep count and just repeat the salawat silently e.g. whilst working - is that kind of dhikr still beneficial? |

As far as the masnun adhkar, if you count you will be fulfilling a sunnah. For the other forms of adhkar and waza'if that have certain amounts, particular benefits have been experienced by counting to the specified number. As the brothers mentioned earlier, there are certain adhkar that you can do in abundance without keeping track, i.e. salawat and istighfar etc. Dhikr is always beneficial, whether you physically feel its effects or not. Remember it's the Munafiqeen who remember Allah very little as mentioned in the Qur'an. The Mu'mineen should be opposite to that. |

Brother,ZIKRE is done for a purpose,in case of Mashaikh the purpose is basically to attain the quality of Ehsan....in case of commoners like us the purpose would be to gain Ajar...and indeed gaining closeness to Allah swt.Masnoon Azkar would be ideal for those who are not connected to a Shaikh, and inshaAllah those who perform Masnoon Azkar would be safe from any kind of side effects. feeling blessed to have got a chance to read such a precious post. jazaakumullahu khaira, sir! |

It felt like my brain was being cooked lol, then turned into a headache. Today was much better. I dropped the extra waza'if and stuck with 300 tasbihat + extra durood and istighfar and I feel like my brain is in a breeze. |
