![]() My two-cents: What if one does not live till night? =). How'd it feel if on the day of judgement everyone is judged and admitted in Jannat, while the person is still unaware of his case. He does not see his prayers anywhere to attest for him. He keeps waiting till he is thrown in hell and just before going in hell he sees a weak old hand pulling him up slowly, weakly. And he'd remark furiously that where were you when I was being judged, it'll reply where were you when the Mu'adhin was calling out the prayer. How'd his condition be? One must hasten to pray with sincerity. Qad'ha is an option to make up one's missed prayers. I heard it from my high school teacher, it only fulfils the obligations however, it does not give one rewards for it. (It may need correction from scholar if it is the case or not) There is a hadith that whoever deliberately misses a prayer commits kufr. However, it is kufr-bil-amal. And one can't label anyone a Kaafir only because he misses his prayers. Ali RA said that even if one is drowning and the time for prayer has arrived. One should make the intention of prayer. And Allah knows best. A scholar might answer it better In-sha'Allah. |

We will wait for a scholar inshaa Allah, but inshaa Allah just take into mind that the prayers have been set at specific times. This is mentioned in the Qur'an, can't quote exactly. There is a hadeeth I heard from a lecture of Shaykh Husain Abdul Sattar that if a person misses a prayer even though he may make it up he will have his name written on the gates of hell (?) which he will have to enter, I am paraphrasing and going from the top of my head so may Allah forgive me if I have quoted it wrong. Obviously, that doesn't mean we are doomed. We still have to do istighfaar and true repentance and make up every missed prayer and inshaa Allah Allah will forgive us.
Think about this way, if you go to the hospital and the doc comes around to check on you at particular times of the day you can't just tell him come back at night I am too busy now. SubhanAllah. Allah has set particular appointments for us where we will praise Him and as well as fulfilling a major obligation we will inshaa Allah gain a wonderful nisbah with our Allah and that is why we are here, to worship Him. Why can't we do qadha of our dunyaee activities instead of our meetings with our Rabb? He sustains us and thus we are able to do things we can. How can we be so ungrateful and selfish in front of our Allah. Then He doesn't send a lightning bolt on our heads if we don't pray, He gives chance and another chance and so on. How vast is the rahmah of Allah! But alas we turn away... |
