Default Completing Full Quran in Taraweeh - Sunnah
AssalaamsWW,

Whats the established view of each of the 4 schools wrt completing the full quran in taraweh salaah. Grateful if knowledgeble brothers/ulama, from each school, can state their schools respective positions. Prefer if hanafi's give their school's view, shafi's give their school's view, Maliki's give their school's view and hanbali's give their school's view.

In Imam Shurunbulali 's Maraqi'us-Sa'adat (Ascent to Felicity) it's written that it's a communal (kifaya) Sunnah for men to pray Tarawih in Jama'ah as well as to recite the entire Qur'an once in Tarawih.

so wrt the hanafi school if at least theres one main taravi jamaat for the local area which also prays the full quran the sunnah wouldve been considered discharged for all?

Very relevant for the people living in the West for these summer Ramadans,

''People exaggeratedly emphasize completing the Qur'an in tarawih. It is neither obligatory nor emphasized. Yes, it is praiseworthy--but so is reciting an extent that people can sustain; and that doesn't overwhelm them (esp given how late)... and we balance it with group dhikr, some songs, some reminders... [and no fundraising "time outs"]''

- Shaykh Farāz Rabbānī.
