As many here claim to practice taqleed, my question is, will you wait for teh scholars to proceed you on any given matter? When you debate sectarian issues, which scholar has advised you to do this? When you criticise saudi, which scholars has advised you to do this? |

Salaams Assuming that you are: I personally think that the delegation of any issue of faith to somebody else is in essence the act of the lazy and uneducated. No matter how many 'scholars' have taken the issue and given their synopsis, taking their work as absolute simply says that a) the person does not give enough importance to the issue, b) is not qualified to take on the issue, or 3) has given in to the "accepted norm" of following blindly the word of the "ullama" or "scholars". I personally despise nothing more than those that fall under the 3rd category. I do not think that accepting judgement of others in the matters of faith should be praised, sought, or accepted as a 'best practice' as I see many fellow brothers do. I always make a point when asking any religious scholar a question to include the word "what do you think". I would really be disappointed in myself if I ever asked the question by saying "what is the ". (I do not mean a deity's judgement, but a person's conclusion). |

The Deobandie ulama I know praise Saudi in public and say they may be far from perfect but at least they are better than most Arab regimes and they have kept the Haramain free from nudity etc. generally speaking. Also it is part of Iman to Love the Rasul and the Arabs. So we pray that Allah Guides the Arab people back to the deen because currently they have mostly fallen away from the deen (this bold part is what a scholar other than the Deobandie ones I follow say). Arab bashing yet again on SunniForum. |
