A problem that still plague societies today.May Allah guide us this Ramadan to help us cleanse our hearts of all false racist superiority beliefs and make us one ummah..Insha Allah.
Racism in Islam: Racism is one of the most ruthless and problematic aspects of human behavior. Racism is basically a feeling of superiority someone feels toward another who is of different ethnicity, skin color, physical features etc. The dictionary defines racism as “discriminatory or abusive behavior towards members of another race” or “the prejudice that members of one race are intrinsically superior to members of other races”. How does Islam view racism? The Qur’an cuts the very roots of racism in these words: "O Mankind! Most certainly, it is We (God almighty) who have Created you all From a single (pair) Of a male and a female, And it is we who Have made you into Nations and tribes, That you may recognize each other (not that you may despise each other).Verily, the noblest of you in the sight of God is the most Righteous of you." Qur’an 49:13 Islam stresses the absolute unity in variety of the human race. The Prophet (pbuh) said: "God does not look at your shapes or your colors but He looks at your hearts (intentions) and your deeds. Creatures are the dependants of God and the closest among them to God are indeed the most useful to His dependants." Thus we can see Islam is the antidote to racism, and where Islam[truly] flourishes there can be no tolerance for racism. http://www.en.inshaallah.com/racism-in-islam.html |

Racism is not only related to the color of the skin, but also the cast system which are from the hindu religion. This kind of racism is very widespread in the sub continent and it makes me sick. Many two faced "religious" muslims out there doing khidmat for Deen, but they don't have the courage to speak out against this evil in the Jumaa Khutbas etc. Shame, shame and a big shame. Didn't Allah look at the Amaal and Niyyah of a person? We forgot I think... Allahualam.

I agree brother..the caste system is horrific and Muslims should stand strongly against this evil.Unfortunately it has affected too many Muslims. Allah knows best but it appears that Arab bashing, while reserving no time for self-introspection, is a favored pastime among subcontinental types, especially on this forum. |

Perhaps the reason why they are silent about this is because it is often more comforting for many to create thread after thread, engage in conversation after conversation, about Saudi or Arab "racism" towards people from the continent. We need to understand this and raise our children on this and remember our deaths.May Allah help us.Ameen |

Gujratis are very racist people. - because it implies all of them are - i.e. it is a negative stereotype - we should avoid saying things like that it is better to say that you have noticed that 'many Gujeratis are racist', but even saying this will probably cause racism against Gujeratis on those grounds, so there is sense in avoiding it. racism breeds racism - it is like cancer we have to be careful against allowing or encouraging racism - because it is so easy to fall into and is so divisive. ________________________________________ that video http://www.as-suffa.org/item/muslims-being-racist.html is profound by the way. I wish someone would force all the Muslims on my street to watch it because many of them have this sickness |
