And how do you know mufti abu zafar? He is the imam at my local mosque

Theres plenty of other mawlanas at this mosque also, grads from bury and stuff.

But mufti abu zafar is from india and so i would like to know how you know about him considering he is not exactly well known in UK.
I know mufti abu zafar since an age. Ever since I was a lil kiddo. He comes to my house. I just been ta his house a few weeks ago too. I know him very well.
At your local mosque? Been there too...

He isnt well known around uk but around our circle he is. Mashallah hes got a lot of knowledge. You should chek out some of his tahqeeqat. Its wikkid.

And by the way I now its kings heath but we pronounce it kinzeath.

What is tahqeeqat?

Yes they have a kitchen upsatirs, where people pray on jummah and stuff and kids also learn, as well as learning in the rest of the mosque.

Tahqiq = scholarly invetigation into a Shari' Matter, hence Tahqeeqat is its plural. I thought the Mufti was from Bangladesh. I have been to that masjid which is run by Gujarati brothers. I know a brother who studied under him. Is there not a packaging company by the masjid? Check your email.

Anyway, i would recommend Mawlana Zaheer Mahmud as an English speaking scholar- he is a personal friend of mine who is active in Aston (Jame Masjid, aka: Saddam masjid), now living in Handsworth Wood area.

Which mosque is thqt sheikh from aston at? Which bus do I take to get there and where do I get off?
Are you referring to mawlana bahaudeen or mawlan Zahir (they both in aston)

I'm not sure what bus goes there, but the mosque is now know as jami masjid, but it is still better known by its old name "Saddam Hussain Mosque".

Theres also mawlana Zahir in Aston, i think he still does talks and stuff in saddam hussain mosque (now known as jamia masjid).

And i have heard from a few differnt peopl (including our own abu usama) that the new imam at central mosque Qari ismaeel is pretty good, although ive not yet had the blessing of taking knowledge from him.

but it depends exactly what sort of sheik you are looking for. If its for tazkiyah purposes then you will have problmes finding a sheikh in birmingham (ive heard theres a good one in aston, name escapes me). If its for aqeedah then i think mawlana zahir will be the best one to go to, but if its just genreal fiqh questions theres tons of mawlans that graudated from darul ulooms in brum.

Salam,

yes i've met Maulana Zaheer and attended one of his lectures which was just excellent. Also i would recommend (as brother GenN has already said) Qari Ismaeel Rasheed who does Jummah at Birmingham Central Mosque. He is of sound aqeedah and studied under Allama Yusuf Binori for many years in Pakistan back in the day.

Assalmau alaykum

jk for explanation of tahqeeq, (i can't check my email till the evening, theres a block on email here at work, and on odd nights i might not get around to it in evening). Muti Abuzafr is from bangladesh, but i meant he is from india in terms of where he studied, as he studied in india (sorry for confusion). Yes theres a packaging company about 4 doors away (run by another bunch of mawlanas mashaAllah).

I did not realise Mawlana Zahir had moved to Handsworth wood, its been ages since i saw or spoke to him.

And by the way for tazkiyah purposes i found out the name of the mawlana for tazkiyah in aston, Mawlana Burhanudeen (or was it bahaudeen, SubhanAllah i have such a terrible memory). I have some friends who have given him bayah they inform me that the only thing he is interested is tazkiyah (and he is very strict and straight to the point type of person), so for for tazkiyah purposes he is bound to be excellent. In fact i'm gonna spend some time with him, and perhaps i will also give him bayah (as i like strict, staright to the point types).
