Excerpt from the book, Who are the Blind Followers?: When people do not restrict themselves to one madh-hab, then gradually an environment of following the concessions of the Imams will come into existence. In Fiq-h, this is termed as "Tatabbu'ur Rukhas". The scholars have rendered severe warnings about this. Imam Baihaqi quotes Imam Awza'i Rahimahumallahu Ta'ala as saying: "The person who adopts all the rarities of the 'Ulama' leaves (the precincts of) Islam." Imam 'Ali Ibn Al-Ja'd Rahmatullahi 'alaih attributes the following statement to the great Sulaiman At-Taimi Rahmatullahi 'alaih: "If you practice upon the concessions of every 'Alim, then every evil will be gathered in you." 'Hafiz Ibn 'Abdul Barr Rahmatullahi 'alaih comments on this statement: "There is consensus on this. I am not aware of any opposing view on it." It is reported from the two great scholars of Hadith, Imam Yahya Al-Qattan and Imam Ahmad Ibn Hambal Rahimahumallahu Ta'ala that such a person is a fasiq (transgressor). May Allah protect us. |

salam think about the word madhab in a litteral sense for a moment not as a method. It is a route, a way a path. now imagine you have four friends & each one of them has a different route between point a & point b. if you decide to go with friend 1s directions to a certained point & then at a point you feel like you dont want to follow his directions for a while because he said turn right. & then you follow friend 2 at that point instead because at that left of the journey he said you can go left. you can only imagine where you would end up because friend 1 & 2 are possibly on two different roads at the same time. however the objective is the same because point b is the same. in the case of the madhahim. point b is the pleassure of Allah. |
