Default The Blessed Month of Rajab
Assalamu Alaikum,

Sayyid al-Habib 'Ali al-Jifry said: The pious predecessors would say 70 times every night and every day, after 'Isha and after Fajr in Rajab:

Rabbighfirli warhamni wa tub alayya
O Allah! Forgive me and have Mercy and Pardon me

and the Sahaba would count the Prophet saying this phrase 100 times in any given gathering.

i read this dua in salafis ibadhas. i like salafis ibadha. they are very religious....i am deciding to move from hanafi to salafi..

because last night i was listening to one of the lectures on isra wal miraj and one sentence of salafi's shaykh making me to move to salafi..shaykh said people of different group say don't do this/that in rajab and don't do ibadha in rajab it's all innovation..then he said let them say they don't do ibadha instead they watch Tv..and this is so true though..and he further said they are earning gunah and we do ibadha and we get ajar..this sentence opened my eyes and reminded me the importance of doing ibaadha in this very sacred month.../

..for the reminder of ibadha/dua..

Assalamu Alaikum dear sister,

I follow the Quran and the authentic transmissions of the sunnah. I follow the opinions of the 4 great imams in addition to the other fiqh of the great scholars of the salaf that conforms with Quran and authentic ahadith.

I don’t like the rigidity of following only one imam on minor issues. Great debates and bloodshed have been spilled for centuries as a result of favouritism of one madhab over the other due to minor issues and served as divisions in the ummah. But having said that, I don’t believe that just because a scholar is salafi, it suggests he/she automatically is more religious than a hanafi scholar. Yes, I do support their strict stance on bidah as:

It was narrated on the authority of Abu Najih al-Irbad bin Sariyah, radiyallahu 'anhu, who said:

"The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, delivered an admonition that made our hearts fearful and our eyes tearful. We said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is as if this were a farewell sermon, so advise us." He said, "I enjoin you to have Taqwa of Allah and that you listen and obey, even if a slave is made a ruler over you. He among you who lives long enough will see many differences. So for you is to observe my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly-principled and rightly-guided successors, holding on to them with your molar teeth. Beware of newly-introduced matters, for every innovation (bid'ah) is an error." [Abu Dawud & Al-Tirmidhi, who says it is an authentic hadith]

I believe that as long as we are following the general consensus of the salaf I.e the ahlus as sunnah al jamaah, we will be fine Inshallah.

I think Sheikh Bilal Phillips is a wonderful salafi scholar that teaches sharia minded orthodox islam.

Heres his website where his running classes:

http://www.islamiconlineuniversity.com/

But I still got a lot to learn and a long way to go before I even finish one module in his curriculum, please make dua for me. I will also do likewise for you Inshallah.

Jazakallah.

I wonder who said not to worship in the month of rajab. In fact one should use this month and coming month to get more prepared for the month of ramadhan. Allahu alam
Let Allah SWT guide us. Ameen

But who said not to pray nafil salah? Those who are not salafis you mean?
I am sorry normally doing nafil ibadah is encouraged. I wonder where you got that exactly. It would be nice if you could quote. You seem to be kind of frustrated with those who are not salafis but it would be good to get clarified inshaaAllah.

I doubt anybody will tell you NOT to make ibadah in any month. Ibadah is for every month, Its just the bid'ah that they disagree with.

Do you have a shaikh BTW?

hmm I am not claiming salafis discourage to do ibadah but so do shuyook like mine and others. Perhaps you just sat in the company of salafis but not the others. We are created to do the ibadat of Allah SWT and no muslim will say otherwise.

I never know modern day salafis have sub groups like hanafis, shafiis etc. In fact they are kind of against these people and thus calling themselves salafis. hmm either I am not getting your posts right or your posts kind of show lack of understanding.

Do one thing, be neutral and keep praying istikhara salah and ask Allah SWT to join you with the righteous people as none can be more trustworthy than Allah SWT.

Oh yeah I got it you mean like how ahlesunnah have different madhabs but there is nothing here like which madhab is right. All are right in their sense and in acceptable and so we cannot call them as sub-groups in terms of calling one is right and the other is wrong. Anyways salafis too come under ahlesunnah I think.

First and foremost as you trust Allah SWT and you believe in istikhara salah, I humbly request you to pray this salah and seek His help.

If you need any clarification and you have doubts in being a hanafi or shafii etc, you can ask here inshaaAllah. I hope inshaaAllah you will get clarified.

I dont think them to be bad. In fact we muslims should not look down anyone for we never know who is better in the sight of Allah SWT.
