Salam Everybody
I'm currently doing a research study on Muslim female leadership barriers in career progression, as part of my Msc Dissertation. I chose to study this area because all research has focused on non-muslim and western countries. In Islam it gives the importance of knowledge and education for both male and females, and whilst some Muslim countries understand this yet there are hardly any women in high positions for example management/executive. This can be for many reasons for example cultural, giving priority to taking care of the home, unfair opportunities amongst others. I am interested in talking to sisters who hold a management, or assistant to management position in a MUSLIM COUNTRY or has held such a position in a MUSLIM COUNTRY. I'm only interested in their views regarding this issue and their workplace experience. Your participation will remain anonymous and you dont have to answer questions that you do not wish to. You can take part in one of two ways: 1) Via chat online (Preferable) 2) Email response to questions This is a very important study to help address the barriers that exist in the workplace for sisters and what things can be brought into the workplace to help ensure equality. It is not important to adopt western ways of success as we can still allow sisters to work in the workplace adhering to Islamic laws if need be. However companies need involve women in the thinking process. I'm having great difficulty locating sisters to take part. I would be so grateful If I can gain some support for this study, or if any brothers know some sisters that would be interested? |
