In Siyar A’lam al-Nubala’, Imam Dhahabi mentioned in the tarjamah for Abu Darda’,

yes, its Hadrath Abu Darda, its there in Fazail e Aamal, page 148 [stories of the sahabah - zeal for knowedge, just before story of Hadrath ibn abbas (ra)] found it while researching a document for sister pouring rain.
