I once heard in a bayan something to the effect that if one ends up accidentally looking at a ghair mehram member of the opposite sex, that there is a dua which can be recited at such an occasion? The sheikh giving the bayan went on to say something to the effect that this can turn something 'bad' like accidentally looking at a ghair mehram female (such as when walking on the street etc) into something 'good', i.e. a source of reward, Insha'Allah, since one is reciting the musnoon dua for the occasion. I have not been able to find this dua by a bit of Googling. If there is such a dua, would anyone please mind posting it? EDIT: Before someone gets the wrong idea that it's OK to go around checking out women/men as long as you are reciting this dua as you do it (may Allah protect us, Ameen), I just want to make it clear that obviously this is for times when one ACCIDENTALLY ends up looking at someone they shouldn't be looking at, even though they are trying their best to lower their gaze, such as while walking, driving, etc; and that one would need to immediately lower their gaze/look away and then recite this dua. This is not something to play with but rather a serious matter. . |

I do not know if this is that duaa? Allahumma tahhir qalbi minan nifaaqi wa amali minar riyaai' wa lisani minal kazibi wa aini minal khiyanati fa innaka ta'alamu khaainatal a'yuni wa maa tukhfis sudoor. "O Allah! purify my heart from hypocrisy, my actions from ostentation, my tongue from lies, my eyes from treachery for verily You know the treachery of eyes and whatever the hearts conceal." |

Brothers recite this : Allahumma Innee A-oozubeka min fitnatinnisaa-e wa-a-oozibika min azabil kabr (Oo Allah save me from the fitna of women and save me from punishment of the grave) Sisters recite this(Most probably...contact an aalim for pronounciation) : Allahumma Innee A-oozubeka min fitnatil rejaal (Oo Allah save me from the fitna of men) Also recite astagfirullah three times |

I typed out the du'aa brother Faizanakram99. I didn't do sister MercyofAllah's since there are a few words I'm not sure of and would rather not risk a misspell. |

Ohhh by the way brother Abdul-Khaaliq maybe its not a good idea to lower your gaze while your driving . ...lower their gaze/look away... Of course, sometimes I feel like 'lowering my gaze' while driving, but we'll leave that for another thread! |
