Default Reciting Names of Allah
When reciting any of the 99 Names of Allah, should we replace the 'Ar', 'As' etc with 'Ya'?

So, should we say Ya Rahman instead of Ar-Rahman?

here is a link to the website where i found this - http://islamicpath.org/dua_names.html

Yes, that is correct.

ex: Ya Rahman! Ya Rahim! have mercy on me.

Something like that could be used in a personal dua.
