It is not a "Salafi" trait, although those who call themselves Salafis tend to be most adherent to it. Sometimes people do go overboard and simple words are extended beyond comprehension. I actually think it is good for online usage where people who may have not heard of these words may pronounce them phonetically. I remember an interview that was conducted of Ml. Sami' ul Haq in Pakistan and the lady interviewing him kept on saying "haydith". It took me a while to realize that she actually meant hadith/hadeeth/حديث.
^ Yes, I was just noticing as well. So many 'salafi' threads today. Why the sudden interest I wonder? There has been an influx of modernists on this forum so Salafi-bashing is popular (ignoring the fact that modernism and many forms of Salafism are two sides of the same coin). |

Name of Salafi related threads on the FIRST page of Sunniforum at this moment: the biggest joke is how people rushed to condemn me when ive over generalised about sufi's, even though i tried my upmost to differentiate between real sufis and fake sufis I do wonder why the double standards when some here will make whole threads based on some guy they met in the masjid who they think is salafi or some tiny group who everyone hates, but then when it comes to the many colourful sufi groups we are expected to not consider them sufi or call them sufi unless they arent complete and utter charlatans it would be nice to have some consistency perhaps we chould only talk about salafis or other groups in terms of what their major scholars have said from now on rather than generalisations? |
