Default Istinja - the best method?
What is the Sunnah method? TP = tissue paper.
How do people especially "back home" only use water because then your hand is touching the filth without removing the excess and you can't dry your behind so you walk with a wet one!

TP
Water
TP water
Water TP
TP Water TP

Shukran.

P.S. I don't know how non-Muslims cope with method 1. Eek! :-(

Any method involving water which gets one 100% clean is fine. It doesn't matter if it's TP > Water > TP or Water > TP > Water > TP or E=MC˛... as long as it involves water and gets the area fully clean, it's good to go.

The hand touching the filth is irrelevant as one should wash their hands well with soap afterwards (while not getting carried away and standing there for an hour, after a certain point soap and water is just being wasted and not doing any further 'cleaning' on the skin).

Yup, using only water without drying with tissue afterwards will leave one wet but clean. The wetness would dry momentarily, but of course drying with tissue after washing with water is much preferred by most!

The below-linked fatwa may be beneficial as well Insha'Allah:

A revert sister isn't accustomed / comfortable to the hand / jug method and so is wondering can she use TP first then moistened/wet TP or purchased flushable moist TP to ensure the area is "clean"? If not she'll have to fit a bidet shower in her toilet.
