Assalamu alaykum Brother there is no reason for the discussion to be stopped. I am genuinely asking question about this, I have seen the videos and know some brothers who are part of this Tariqa and they invited me to their mehfil and I witnessed it with my own eyes and it was the first time I have ever seen anything like that so I'm trying to gain further understanding. |

Ive seen the videos and yes your are correct. I was invited to one of their mehfils and attended recently and it was a very nice atmosphere mashallah the unity in the brothers was something I hadn't felt in a long time and then the zikr started and then the wajd/Tawajjuh. I have been told to come for at leats 7 mehfils and I will start to feel the effects. |

Salam, Tawajjo can be done and wajd happens also. Tawajjo is more refined strong power of thought you can say. Tawajjo is something a person develops like how you do exercises to develop strength in your arms, same way you develop strength in power of thought. Wajd, the example is like how some people hear music and cant help but dance, in the same way is wajd. Wajd just comes over someone. It has to be goverened by shariah, person cant be doing something haraam and say it is wajd, it doesnt excuse him unless truly he is mentally incapable to control himself and only ulama fuqaha will give ruling on this. Also, doing both things doesnt prove anything as far as nearness to Allah swt and His messenger salallahu alayhi wa sallam are concerned. The greater tawajjo I say is that one is constantly aware of the commandments of Allah swt in every situation and upon taking every step in life. And the real wajd is in sajdah. |

funny how none of these people go into 'wajd' when they hear the quran...funny how many of them don't even seem to be outwardly following the sunnah....but they hear someone singing about their peer and now they go into wajd hmmm |

Are you trying to say something about a certain group? If you are then go ahead and say it, these kind of issues are way too advanced for a woman to understand anyway; thats not even wajd....its full on bhangra lol warning: video contains music |

Im quite intrigued with Wajd/trance states that occur with many muslims associated with sufism. In my opinion i feel that this state of trance is something which happens due to high emotions. One could be in this state in any situation regardless of what they follow. You see Christians, Jews, dancers, Qawali lovers all who get into trance state.
Just the ways sufis do dhikr via swaying heads and twirling movements is seen the same with christians who be in a trance state. Wajd is a science that specialises in losing control of oneself to a higher level. You see with many sufis who have practised this art could get into this state really quick. Its like when a engine warms up in an aeroplane, the faster it gets the more power the plane gets. When speeds are high we have lift off. Similarly with people who practise wajd they do movements. The more they move the more they lose control of themselves and hence be up in the air. I belive this state is a persons own creation, its all to do with high emotions. When a mumin shows love to Allah s.wa and has a feeling of awe in the heart Allah s.w.a loves that mumin and will have the same feeling towards him. But this losing control of the body/senses does not make sense at all. Allahualim. |
