Default Please make dua for my father - he is very ill
Salaam all,

I ask of you all to please make dua for my father as he is critically ill in hospital and the doctors have told us the next 24-48 hours are crucial. I am deeply worried for him and my mother, but also of how i will provide for my family if the unthinkable happens.

Also i have been making dua and doing dhikr but is there anything else i should do or any particular dua or sura to read from the holy Quran?

Thank you with all my heart.

JazakAllah

my brother,

May Allah grant your father 100% complete recovery and health, and may He bless you and your family with all that is good in this life and in the hereafter. Ameen.

Alhamdulillah brother you are doing the right thing by making lots of dua and doing lots of dhikr. Also I probably don't need to say this to you but guard your daily 5 times salat without exception Insha'Allah. If, Allah-forbid, you miss one for some reason, consider it a 911 emergency and make that salat up as soon as possible. Pray tahajjud and then cry and make dua to Allah for all your needs. Even if you are tired and can only manage 2 rakats then do that, for the last 3rd of the night (time before Fajr time starts) is one of the times when duas are accepted by Allah .

Brother here is some advice a sheikh gave to a brother who was recently in a similar situation (a family member was really sick):

- Give sadaqa every single day no matter the amount, even if a penny.
- Stay away from major and 'minor' sins.
- Make your fardh salat on time, in Jamaat preferably, even if it takes extra effort to do so.
- Make a lot of astaghfaar throughout the day.
- Recite "Yaa Hayyu Yaa Qayyoom birahmatika astagheeth" abundantly.
- Recite " La ilaha illa Anta Subhanaka inni kuntu mina z-zalimin" abundantly.

Here are some relevant links:

Brother one of the key things also right now for you is to Insha'Allah be there for your mother and any other family members and be a source of strength and patience of them Insha'Allah. Submit yourself to Allah and cry to him in dua and ask him to give you the strength to remain steadfast for yourself as well as be able to be there properly for your mother and others as well.

In regards to your worries about how you will provide for your family if the unthinkable happens, brother that's a legitimate worry and may Allah reward you for having concern for your family like that, but we need to understand that Allah is The Provider, not us. He sustains everything from the smallest ants and insects in the depths of the earth, to fish and animals in the depths of the ocean, to every single human being, and all other creation. One sheikh once said in his bayan that if we think of things from the perspective that we are doing everything, then they most definitely seem and prove to be very difficult, but if we realize 100% that Allah swt is doing everything, not us, then all of the sudden it becomes much, much easier. May Allah swt give me understanding of this as well. Ameen.

Also remember bro that the bottom line is that Qadr (fate/destiny) is from Allah swt, and it has all already been written, so we must accept what Allah swt has written for us as only and only He knows best.

Your father, your mother, you, and your family will be in my duas Insha'Allah.

Bismihi Ta'ala

May Allah Ta'ala grant ease on the difficulty you are experiencing and may Allah Ta'ala grant your father complete shifa, bless him with health, strength, aafiyah and long life.

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu 'alayhi waSallam) said:

‘Give charity, and cure your sick ones through the giving of charity, for verily charity repels accidents and illnesses, and is a source of increase in your life spans and your good deeds.’

May Allah give your father a full recovery and give you and your family peace of heart. Ameen.

Pray durud 11 times
Pray 360 times La hawla wala quwata illah billah, la mal ja a wala manja a illah ilayhi
Pray Bismillah and surah Alam Nashrak 360 times
Again 360 times La hawla wala quwata illah billah, la mal ja a wala manja a illah ilayhi
11 times durud

Make dua and pray for all your needs, Insha Allah I have found this very useful and you too will benefit.

Do not worry about provision Allah is the Provider Trust in Him.

The more people pray it the quicker it can be done, you can split it up so 10 people pray it between them.

May Allah Ta'ala ease his illness, grant him complete shifaa and May He surround your family with His Rahmah during this difficult time.

Please give sadqah as soon as you can and as privately as you can.

Read some Qur'an and make du'a to Allah to send the reward to your father.

Read Surah Ya Sin when you visit his grave.

That's very saddening news. May Allah grant him jannatul firdaws. May Allah ease this difficult time for you and your family.

You and your family should pray for his maghfirah and you may also read Qur'an as isaale thawab for him.

Inna lillahi wa inna eelayhi rajioon.

Brother I am saddened to hear of the loss of your father. I make dua may Allah swt grant him forgiveness and a resting place in paradise, ameen.

Brother adopt patience and try to setup some sort of a routine of doing isaal e sawaab. Daily recite some portion of the Quran and convey the reward to his soul.

Also, better you do something which will bring in daily flow as in do some act of charity which will continue to bring rewards with the intention of the reward going to his soul. Maybe you open a Quran/Alim madrasa or you help someone become hafiz or alim and convey the reward to the soul of your father. Do something people can benefit from and convey the reward of it to the soul of your father.
