Masha Allah. I met a few sheikhs from Kerala in Tarim. they completed the normal hadrami manhaj in kerala & loads of hadith. they came to Dar Mustafa just to learn the works of Imam haddad. they said that they muslim since the days of Imam Ghazali & that is how they happen to be shafi'.
So you guys are not of the normal kokni from hayderbad I take it. so your culture should be similar to indonesian culture too then. & then also ours here in South Africa, we a mixture of slave decent. & some slaves game from South India & Sri Lanka too. but the majority came from indonesia/Malaysia & East Africa. We all mixed together plus with the white slave owners & local africans. So we have a distinct south african culture with the Hadrami ways showing very clearly. |
