Default Are quranists non muslims ? How to stifle them...
Salaam, simple question Are quranists non muslims?

I bumped into these people and i hear all sorts from the, oh i only read the Quran , oh Hadeeth are ( deragatory word). The regard ulema as people who have mix and match the deen ( i.e the Quranists think Uleme use the hadith for their own purposes), they dont understand that Ulema can have ikhtilaf. So can someone provide me with a ruling on them ? i.e a fatwa ..

2. Am i obligated to engage with these people, as they claim to be on the huq (Because they only read the Quran) ? Should i go about refuting ? (I personally dont think i should because NOTHING gets through to them)

3. Anyone else had experience with them ?

Salam,

Don't take my word for it, ask a Mufti.

I say,

if the Quranist simply says "I stick to the Quran because I believe it is trustworthy and reliable, I stay away from Hadiths because they are weak and not preserved as well as the Quran." Then this person is an extremely deviant Muslim, better not to have any relation with him or give him your daughter or sister in marriage.

if the Quranist says "I stick to the Quran, Hadith are BS and full of nonsense" then this person is a Murtadd/Kafir and has to be treated as such.

A person who does not believe the sunnah/hadith to be a source of Sharia, then he is a kaafir without doubt
