I have a big request for you. If i wait i might not be able to make this request, we never know when we will die. Please make dua for me after I Die. I don't think you will be able to know when i pass away one day. If I am not posting in SF for a lot of days that must be a sign. We all did a lot of Dua for Maulana Yunus patel when he passed away. Please do the same for me when i die. If i have offended any of you, i apologize. After I die i won't be able to make dua or do good deeds, only the people alive will be able to make dua for me. I not joking, please take this seriously. Ask Allah to forgive my Sins and protect me from the punishment of the grave and HellFire.

Chill man. don't be so depressed.

I am already chilling too much bro. I atleast have to remember death once in a while.

I have heard/read once about Ameerul Mumineen Umar bin Abdul Aziz , the grand son of Umar Al Farook , accepted by many as the Fifth Righteously Guided Khalifa; He used to arrange some people for a meeting with him after Isha Salah. Not to discuss about the affairs of the Nation, but to remind him about Death and he used to cry everytime. This is Ameerul Mumineen we are talking about.

We are already engrossed too much in this world, atleast we have to think about Death once in a while.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 23, Number 410:

Narrated Abu Huraira(ra):

that Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever attends the funeral procession till he offers the funeral prayer for it, will get a reward equal to one Qirat, and whoever accompanies it till burial, will get a reward equal to two Qirats."
It was asked, "What are two Qirats?"
He replied, "Like two huge mountains."

It is narrated that, Rasoolullah stated,

"Man loves his life while death is better for him."

* Imam Ibn Khuzaima said:

“Know that the extent of your life is limited and each breath is short. Every breath shortens your life. Your whole life is brief and what remains of it is brief. Every part of your life is a precious gem that cannot be replaced. This life is indeed brief and eternal life is in only two outcomes: everlasting bliss or unending torment…”
(Ibn Qudama, al-Wasiyya, p.33 (Arabic) and p.24 (English, trans. A. Bewley, London: Turath Publications, 2008)

'Abdullah bin 'Umar said, "Allah's Apostle took hold of my shoulder and said, 'Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler."
The sub-narrator added: Ibn 'Umar used to say, "If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death."
(Volume 8, Book 76, Number 425 :Narrated by Mujahid)

Assalam alaykum,

There was a time when I was in very serious circumstances--more than once--at which time I reconciled myself with my death as best I knew how and put it in the hands of Allah (SWT). That has helped me to the degree that I keep death in mind. It even helps when writing a post to someone I disagree with--"what if these words are my last?"--and it encourages me to show restraint. We truly travel lighter than we realize on this journey and must be ready to leave this world on a moment's notice.

In the name of Allah, the most Merciful and most Compassionate--may He forgive your sins (He is the best of Forgivers) and may He grant you Mercy and may we meet each other in jannat.

Wassalam
Dear Brothers & Sisters, Assalaamoalaikum

--"what if these words are my last?"-- Remembering these words leads to not requiring any rules on SF.

"what if these words are my last?" should be our Guiding Principle.

And , Insh"allah, remember also when in Salaah, that this Salaah could be my last.

The beauty of this Thread should translate into the Beauty of SF. Insh'Allah

Brotherly yours
farook

Haven't posted for a long time, but would like to take the opportunity to add my dua for all my SF brothers and sisters who patiently tried to correct all the misinformation I so frequently received - may your patience and kindness be rewarded abundantly and may Allah forgive all your sins - and mine - and protect us all from the punishment of the grave.

To continue in this opportunistic vein - I would like to please request a dua from whoever reads this. Please pray that BEFORE I die, Allah will allow me the opportunity and environment to correct all my incorrectly acquired knowledge, and that He will provide me with the wisdom to discern between true and false knowledge, and that He will give me the power to act on the correct knowledge. One of my greatest current fears is that I will die in a state of incorrect belief.

Allah Almighty says,
"Every self will taste death. You will be paid your wages in full on the Day of Rising.
Anyone who is distanced from the Fire and admitted to the Garden, has triumphed.

The life of this world is only the enjoyment of delusion,"
(3:185)

Talks In English As Well As Urdu About Preparing For The Hereafter - http://idauk.org/dawah/ramadhan.html - Includes Death Poem - http://idauk.org/dawah/ramadhan.html - Scroll Down The Page And Go On To The 27th Night Programmes

The Prophet SAW said, "If you knew what I knew, you would laugh less and cry more."

“Everyone should remember death for 15 minutes at least once every week. The easiest method is to set a time for yourself, e.g. every Thursday after dhikr. Death is the destroyer of (unlawful and excessive) desires, so keep on remembering it. Ask yourself:

If I were to die right now, would I be able to show my face to Allah?

In which form would Munkar and Nakeer come to me?

Would I be given a place in the shade of Allah’s throne on the Day of Judgement or not?’
