Default Is the Shariah State Undefined?
I have been fearing this question all my life.
To be precise the fear was of the assertion : Shariah state is undefined. Khilafa is just a pi in the sky, by and by.
Soon I got it in print. The writer was - guess who? A Muslim. A modern one with very secular inclinations.
But I can not spew and hatred on him because I have no evidence that he does not care about Muslims of India from the core of his heart.
A.G.Noorani averred in Islam and Jihad that Muslims do not have a very clear cut idea about what they mean by an Islamic State.
This is rather irritating.
Irritating because whether we have it in an Oxford or Cambridge published document form or not we have clear cut injunction that we got to live our life according to Islam.
And democracy did not have a practical model before it was unleashed on the world.
We Muslims do have practical examples.
Beloved Prophet (PBUH) was a ruler - even if the enemies of Islam and Muslims would like to deny that.
So were the four Pious Caliphs (RA).
So was Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (RA).
So was Salahuddin Ayyubi (RA).
So was Altmash (RA).
So was Tipu Sultan Shaheed.
We have very practical level of alcohol control in Pakistan.
We had government elected for Islam decades ago in Algeria.
What do you want more?
And those mesmerized by US/NATO democracy should be ready to take the holocaust bill.
And there are many more bills to be paid by democracy theory.

The times in which we live are unprecedented in the history of Islam. It has been more than 80 years since the demise of caliphate and it is for the fist time that we got divided into such charged geographical boundaries known as countries. The ethnicity based division and the slogans of "patriotism" which it has led to, is serving as huge obstacle in the efforts of the formation of an Islamic confederation (or Islamic caliphate in the broader sense). The surfacing of relativistic definitions of Shariah , Jihaad and caliphate under these influences is yet another calamity. Finally , many issues related to Ijtihaad have surfaced during the last 80 years which are unsolved and those issues (like Islamic economic system , Democracy in Islam etc) will become of vital importance once the idea of Islamic caliphate is pondered in future.

However , i believe that despite these calculated obstacles , Caliphate is a practical possibility. The reason is that reality has almost never acted in a disciplined calculated way , rather it has made its way in a spontaneously random and splendidly unexpected fashion through out the history of mankind. God acts in mysterious ways and one Salahuddin can change the face of the events.

With you.
And Ameen to the inherent supplication.

The Scottish born Muslim, is now acknowledged as the leading thinker of Islam today. While deriving his teaching from the core of the school of Ahl Al Madinah, far from being an attempt to return to the past, he uses this to apply its methods and principles to constructing the future.

He has placed in the Islamic discourse, after years of the political and personality Islam of the Wahabies and Qutbis, the essential matter of the restoration of Zakat and the obligation return to the gold Islamic dinar and silver Dirham.

His teachings and affected the orientation and appraisal of political leaders from King Hasan II of Morocco to Dr Erbakan, former price minister of Turkey, as well as Dr Mahatir of Malaysia. However, as this important text explains, the restoration of Islam in our time depends on the dismantling of the political class and the reconnection of the power structure to personal rule and real value wealth as opposed to the usury of the paper and numbers financial system now in use.

There is no doubt that his world-wide followers, especially those who are his fuqara in the Darqawiyya-Shadhilliyya Tariqa, are embarked on an irresistible expansion of Islam after the desolation of the failed modernistest. As a Sufi, he sees his work as being continued by Rais Umar Ibrahim Vadillo, leader of the Murabitun, whose world-wide activities have laid the historic foundations of establishing the Islamic Dinar and currency in both real and Internet trading.

Sultaniyya is the definitive modern statement on leadership in Islam. Shaykh Abdalqadir surveys Islam under the chapter headings Deen, Dawla (polity), Waqf, Trade, the Sultan — personal rule — and Tasawwuf.

This book is the only current statement on Islamic leadership outside of the false rhetoric of constitutional democracy and capitalism, beyond terrorism and tolerance.

The book also includes a comprehensive and inspiring review of the system of Awqaf under the Osmanli Khalifate, which they based on the Sunna of our Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, as well as a summary of our own models of Islamic Trade as they can be applied in this age.
