Salamu alaikum wr wb,

I have a question that I could not find a reliable answer to: Why didnt the Roman armies meet the Muslims in Tabuk?

Also, what lead to the Battle of Tabuk in the first place? Was it that news cameto the Prophet (saw)that the Romans were planning to attack the Muslims so he (saw) planned to meet them first before they can come all the way to the Muslims?
