Default Devout Muslims
All these threads lately talking about hypocritical Muslims or Muslims who do bad things is depressing. I felt like we needed a thread that is uplifting and encouraging where we can post things about good Muslims who do good things.

Is there anyone in your life who has made an impact in this way? Is there someone recently who has really touched you or encouraged you? Share your stories.

I will share about two people.

The first is a muslimah who took the time to share Islam with me and teach me to pray as a muslim. She was so kind and patient. She was very intelligent, but modest and soft spoken. She came from a family who did not wear hijab, but she chose to wear one. I enjoyed all my time I spent with her: praying, having coffee, talking, etc. There is nothing bad I could ever say about this woman. She was beautiful inside and out.

The second is a muslim male who was such an inspiration. He was so strong in his faith and in his desire and love for God, despite being born with a malady that left him in excruciating pain every day of his life and unable to move well. He was someone who truly knew what it meant to praise God through the storms of life. Every day was a painful struggle, yet he spent each day striving towards being a better muslim and doing God's will. I am so thankful for having known this person.

If no one has stories, I can share more. LOL

(Should my thread be in the inspirational section of the forum? I forgot about that area, and many of the depressing threads were in this section, so I felt a need to balance it. Feel free to move it if you want! )

Very depressing indeed. .It's a shame that our NonMuslims visitors are noticing how petty, judgemental, presumptuous, holier than thou, nasty and foulmouthed some Muslims are. They come here wanting to discuss and learn about Islam instead they are greeted with a barrage of 'Are barelwis khawarij' 'Women who were tight clothing' * shock horror* Imam of Makkah is Ahlil Hadeeth!! 'Filthy beliefs of Twelvers!! I could go on and on.

FIX UP , take a hint from Sister Pouring Rain and stop making a mockery of yourselves and of Islam.

Hasta la Vista.

Talk about irony! Just in case you missed it the sister was asking a specific question:

Is there anyone in your life who has made an impact in this way? Is there someone recently who has really touched you or encouraged you? Share your stories.
Trust you to dampen this thread and here's a hint from me, lighten up a touch.
