![]() I'd like to know how the situation is currently concerning the spread of ghair-muqallideen ideology in France? I recently searched a bit the web and were under the impression that mostly everything is influenced by them. Searching for Ahlu-Sunnah stuff I only found three sites: (...) Beside the internet, how is the situation in the masajid? Thanks for replying. ![]() |

![]() message from a brother I know who's living there: Mostly from maaliki madhhab, many imaams don't speak french language so younger generation not that attracted, rather islam is mostly cultural to them. Muslim community is definitely not integrated in the society. Seeing a bearded-brother is unknown is medium cities, more common in Paris. Salafi (many kind) and Tablighi are very present in Paris& its suburbs and in other big cities doing da'wa al hamdulillah, otherwise the rest of country follows the "ikhwani" ie they come very close to modernism, their aim nowadays is just to build massajid. Massajid, on the whole, are only full-packed on fridays, otherwise 2-3 rows, I think it's the same situation throughout europe. Salafism rising, because of this very ikhwani, fake-sufi, and modernist methodology which come close to kufr many times, very rare to find balanced people like Deobandi. Alhamdulillah, the tablighi work is being done also by arabs and some 3rd generation of muslims as well as converts ate coming to Islam. The main muslim instance (CFCM, set up by government) is of no use, both Algerian and Moroccans authorities compete vigorously to "control" the instance but both are modernists. The other instance (UOIF) is 'more' islamic but also modernist. The websites you mentioned, although considered "traditional" with many good articles, have some istighatha articles which we cannot digest. To my knowledge there's no equivalent to your "daarul uloom" in France (in fact there is one, but at a christian school...), only teachings in mosques. |

you can also learn tasawwuf without brelwiy and their bid'a. 2. i have yet to witness a bid'a in a barelwi mosque - apart from the sparklies and all the hideous looking decor - which should be made illegal in my opinion. ![]() (if you are going to start barelwi-bashing, feel free, i won't respond) wassalam |

France: Canal+ exposes the underside of the halal market
08-13-2011 Filed under News, The Church in the world A video documentary aired July 31, on the eve of Ramadan, by the French television network Canal+ and entitled Halal: a new business adrift, revealed that the certifying organizations are not doing their job but instead are granting halal certification without inspections. This 52-minute documentary, produced by Feurat Alani and Florent Chevolleau, is a revised and expanded version of an initial 26-minute exposé aired on Canal+ on October 11, 2010, Halal: the underside of the business. The new footage documents the scandals over Herta-brand knackis [crispy-skinned wieners] and Kenza-brand halal sausage. So it is that traces of pork had been found in January 2011 in Herta sausages that had been certified halal. Given that the presence of inspectors in the slaughterhouses would mean a 20% increase in the price of the products, Fourat Alani maintained, many people prefer to shut their eyes, especially since there is no law in France regulating certification. The French Council for Muslim Observance did try to establish a charter, but its definition of the word halal is not accepted by all. According to Florence Bergeaud-Blackler, a researcher at the Institute for Research and Study on the Arab and Muslim World at the University of Provence, who was quoted by the newspaper La Croix on August 3, 2011, the problem is that there is no consensus on an agricultural or dietary definition of halal. According to Fourat Alani, anyone can become an organization that certifies halal. There is no law that defines how the word is used. In some cases its sending a stamped document in return for a check that was sent, and thats it. It is complete impunity, explained Fateh Kimouche [Kimush], a blogger who specializes in the issue. Following the broadcast of the documentary by Canal+, eight city councilmen of Muslim origin demanded that an investigatory parliamentary commission be set up to shed full light on the halal market, since some related commercial practices can amount to public fraud, for lack of clear, precise legislation. The market is particularly important in France, since it involved 5.5 billion Euros in 2010. Florence Bergeaud-Blackler attributes this success to the recovery of their identity by Muslims between the ages of 18 and 25, for whom following dietary rules is a relatively easy religious practice, an external sign of being Islamic that is highly valued in the community. Although most of this business is done in neighborhood markets and specialized convenience stores, large-scale marketing was also started around ten years ago. Halal in Islam designates what is licit, permissible for a Muslim. Halal food is therefore the food that he is permitted to eat. (Sources: apic/ La Croix DICI no. 239 dated August 13, 2011) |

Four French soldiers were killed in an attack on NATO convoy and this has prompted France to evacuate Afghanistan by the end of 2012.
French are also worried about the securities of their troops in Afghanistan. NATO evacuation is slated for 2014 end. Because of an earlier attack on French troops France decided for an earlier withdrawal - by 2013. BBC reports that rushing up is because of the election promise of French President but any onlooker could tell that it is because of the heat turned on the foreign troops in Afghanistan. |

They are actually going to start withdrawing from July next month and withdrawal complete by end of 2012. Hope they don't leave any compatriots behind for "soft activities" (propaganda and subversion) What is more worrying to me is that no one is talking about future of Afghanistan. We have received a faint victory at huge cost and nothing decisive has happened to turn the situation in favour of Islam and Muslims. |
