Default House Warming Parties
Salaam Alaykum.. My question today is regarding house warming parties.. me and my family moved into a new home over the weekend. and an aunty of mine had asked me whether i would be doing a house warming party, my response to her question was that as far as im cooncerned, a house warming party is a non muslim tradition/practise!

was i right to say this? is it okay to do a house warming party?

Jazaak Allah

Assalam Alaikum brother

I'm sure the more learned brothers will comment. But as long as you dont attach any religious significance then i cant see much harm in inviting your family over as an informal get together and preparing some food should be fine - especially if it helps to increase and make firm family bonds. Just for duas from your family - it should be fine.

If i am wrong then plz someone recify me.
