When you give Dawa tailor your words to the person you are talking to.
I have listened to muslims trying give Dawa to non muslims who know nothing about Islam. In their presentation they are talking about the Sahaba, Rasul, Iman, masjid, taqwa, etc. Plus, peppering it with Alhamdulilah, Inshallah, and other Islamic term of expression. While the non muslim just sits there politely with their eyes glazing over. Because they don't have a clue what is being said. It's very important that you speak to them using the words and terms they understand in their language. For example, don't say Sahaba; use something like "best friends". Or don't say Rasul; believe me they don't know that word. Use Muhammad instead. Your Dawa efforts will be much more effective if you apply this little piece of advise. |
