i ask them to fry it seperately in fresh oil with no beer batter etc - the odd /rar etime i have gone its been about 5-6 of us as one order so they've usually done it. The Laughing Halibut in Westminster (though far from East London) is very good and has numerous awards for its traditional fish and chips. Another place i visited was a fish chip place in Hastings (yep very far from E.London!), being a traditional place for fishing industry the fish and chips there was ....well allahuakbar! Fish was so big i couldnt eat it all!

There's too many to mention. If you prefer 'Chicken and Chips' there's Spice Hut (Not HMC) and Ala Pizza (HMC), just to name a couple. Other than that, you'll find fast food shops at every corner of every street in East LdN. I would NEVER buy a proper traditionally made fish and chips from an Asian shop! |

This grosses me out "beef drippings/pork lard"
the best solution is to learn how to make your favorite dishes yourself, that way you can be sure it is halal and clean. Fish and chip is pretty easy to prepare. You could even google a recipe and make it yourself or have ask your wife or mom to make it : ). I like general tso chicken, orange chicken (you know the classic american fake chinese food) so I learned to make it myself at home with all halal ingredients. I actually like the one I make much better than the stuff I used to eat before becoming Muslim. |
