Abu Dhar said, "I was with the Prophet (SAW) one day and I heard him saing: "There is something I fear for my Ummah than the Dajjal." It was then that I became afraid, so I said: " Oh Rasool Allah! Which thing is that?" He (SAW) said; "Misguided and astray scholars."
Recorded in Musnad Imam Ahmad (no.21,334 and no.21,335). Sheikh Shu'ayb al Arna'ut graded it sahih li ghayri (authentic due to corroborating narrations) in his tahqiq of the Musnad (1999 ed., 35:21,296-97). the recent panorama documentary demonising the righteous scholars has a familiar methodology; empower corrupt and evil scholars and give them a platform to try and reform islam whilst portraying the legitimate scholars as extremists. The following list of people are falsely being portrayed as 'moderate scholars' when in fact they are wolves dressed in sheep skin and must be exposed. 1. Dr taj harvey (he performs nikah for muslim women wanting to marry disbelievers) 2. ziauddin sardar (he believes that the quran is open for interpretation for every generation and has recently stated there is no clear islamic ruling regarding homosexuality, and the shariah is not divine) 3. usama hassan (deviant secularist who appeared on the panorama programme) others being represented as "moderates" 1. majid nawaz 2. ed hussain the muslim ummah must be on guard against those who seek to destroy us from within. |

Will you please provide some informations with reference about your thread. I think, it will help us to be safe from those so called scholars. Jazakallah. |

the modernists and secularists collaborate with the kuffar to reform and dismantle islam.
their are 2 main schools of thought amongst them. 1. the quran only group. they deny that the sunna is divine and reject hadith all together. they then claim that the quran is open to interpretation for all of us and reinterpret the text to try and make haram into halal and look for ways to negate any sharia command they disapprove of. (taj harvey and ziauddin sardar are good examples). 2. this group accepts the authenticity of quran and sunnah but attempt to reform the sharia around the maqasid. they elevate the maqasid beyond their place and make false ijtihad and as a result they make homosexuality, secularism and many other things halal. they then seek to eradicate any sharia rulings they disapprove of e.g. hadd punishments, khilafa, warfare e.t.c. (the quillam foundation is a good example) both groups have already decided what islam is and then seek to reshape the religion around their false desires. |

Ed Hussain, he is just an annoying little bogey, you know them guys whos got something to say at every current affairs issue.
He has though spoken out against groups like Al Muhajiroun, but he is way too critical on other aspects, even going against certain sunnah and hadith. He also writes for teh Guardian I believe |

There are many of these "scholars".
Ed Hussain and Nawaz are paid operatives of the British govt, given that the Quilliam Foundation receives/received govt funds precisely to propagate their ideological slant. Majid Nawaz has graduated to the big time, however. He recently was granted 20 minutes of a biographical piece of America's premier TV 'news' show: 60 Minutes. The bio was called 'The Narrative' where Nawaz claims (on behalf of his employer, the British govt) that the narrative of the Muslim 'extremists' is all make believe. Nawaz was granted a fellowship at the Council for Foreign Relations in New York. Its one of the premier foreign policy think tanks for America. No doubt, he will help America to plot against the Muslim Ummah and the efforts to resume the Islamic way of life. "Hey, a guy's gotta make a livin'" |

![]() I don't think these guys could be considered knowledgeable munafiqeen, as they tend to be pretty ignorant when it actually comes to Islam and its sources. Rather, that hadith seems to be referring to the "scholars for dollars" phenomenon, where people who actually have knowledge (or at least respect) give fatawa that legitimizes whatever evil actions their governments commit. An example of this (though I am not calling him a hypocrite) is Sudais's Jumua Khutba given at Masjid al-Haram in praise of the Saudi king for the creation of KAUST and its gender mixing campus. |

People like Tauseefur rahman , Meraj rabbani , Abu Mussab wajdi Akkari fit in the category of "Misguided and astray" scholars.... |
