I'm having some renovation being carried out in my house - and I'm struggling to find reliable people to do the work. The electrician has been the only person I've been happy with - did everything required to my specifications. The plaster did a horrendous job! Some walls were brilliant and some were just .. I dunno .. I'm out of words. I tried to sand down all the walls etc and just when I though the worst is over, they walls starts cracking!!

I don't even want to talk about the central heating. I had to pay out of my pocket to rectify their mistakes. But alhumdillah its all set now and Insha'allah it will not give me any problems.


I'm having the bathroom fitted and really really worried about hiring someone for the job. I want someone trustworthy and honest. We don't know anybody personally as we never had any kind of work done.


Are there any special duas that I can read when hiring someone??


Also, hanging of quranic verses in the house, or the name of Allah swt or the like - is this permissable? i.e. for baraqah in the house? Or is this considered the same as wearing an amulet?
