![]() A Non-Muslim friend of mine who is married to a German woman told me that in Germany its common to see Baby Hatch in Hospitals where women come and bandon their babies freely and legally... This is the first time I have heard of this in my life, its pretty disgusting stuff to be honest.... |

![]() That is pretty civilized compared to what was going on here in Germany. Every few months you would hear about mothers literally "slaughtering" (or at least killing/murdering) their babies, because of different fears. It's just like Rasulullah ![]() |

speaking of adoption alhumdolillah we have this here in our area near the masjid - http://www.fostercarelink.com. It has a couple Bury ulama amongst the staff also and i think are in the process of opening up branches in Manchester and B'ham. When i hear some of the stories from staff (though childs names etc are not mentioned) mashallah the impact on childrens lives is amazing.

![]() Yeah it's a real shame. We have something similar in the states, it's called the "Safe Haven" law which allows parents to simply abandon a newborn at designated locations. You'll often see signs near hospitals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe-haven_law |

![]() quick and easy adoptions would work in an ideal world where every human is a loving, well adjusted person willing to take the child and look after it as their own. but the world is not like that. there are all sorts of weirdos out there. child abusers, druggies, drunks, thieves etc etc etc. imagine if the child was to end up with one of those??? |

![]() Sure you're right, but it makes it terribly hard for sincere people who want to adopt. Example, here in South Africa my husband and I would not be able to adopt because we're foreigners. While in other countries you need truckloads of money and living up to a standard. So if I want to live simple with bare necessities, I doubt I'd be able to pass an inspection by the social worker. ![]() |

S/w, most of those babies are born as a result of adultery (zina)...but the west has a name for such babies too, it's called 'love child' !! only to be abandoned as soon as they are born...thats 'love' in the 21st century...but i really feel so sorry for the children ![]() Yeah... poor child. Born and labeled for something he/she had absolutely no control over. That's one of the reasons my heart goes out to these poor babies ![]() |

I think it is absolutely important for leaders/governments to take adoptions/guardianships/fostering seriously in order to protect children. That said, there really has to be more flexibility on some issues like what sister Sudoku mentioned - living a simple life does not equal inability to care for a child. |
