 shake hands with uncle's wife
 Is shaking hands with uncle's wife halal or haram? For shafi'I is it going to break our wudhu'? |

 Uncle's wives (be it paternal or maternal uncle) are Non Mahram and hence shaking hands with them will be impermissible.. Wallahu A'lam.. |

this is alarming because I actually never knew about this. I always thought my aunt (my uncle's wife) is my mahram through marriage and this portion is always left out when discussing about what would break our wudhu' (shafi'i).

Is there iktilaaf on this issue? There isn't any ikhtilaaf on this issue. Touching a ghayr mahram is haraam. Read the following: http://qa.sunnipath.com/issue_view.asp?ID=6292 This apparent "ikhtilaaf" is something new and still remains a minority opinion and  will die before it becomes a plague.
