Default Silly but sincere question
OK - stupid but genuine question.

I recall one of the dua's for those who have passed away involve asking Allah swt to raise the dead person among the angels and give a home better than his home, a family better than his family and a wife better than his wife. Can we say the same thing about a woman - i.e. a home better than her home, a family better than her family and a husband better than her husband?

[Edit]

The son of Sa'd says that my father heard me and I was saying: O Allaah! I ask You of Paradise, its bounties and of its leisure, and such and such. And I seek refuge from Hellfire, its chains, its handcuffs, and such and such. My father said: O my dear son! I have heard Rasulullaah saying: Shortly people will exaggerate in their Du'a. Desist from joining them. If indeed you are given Paradise, then you will be given it along with all the good it contains. And if indeed you are protected from Hell, then you are saved from it and from all the evil it contains. - (Abu Dawud)

,
The du'a she mentioned is authentic (sahih muslim) and she asked if the same could be recited if the dead one was a female.

Dawah to Islam, enjoining Good and forbidding Evil, are traits of BELIEVERS and the best people of mankind!!!

They are not solely the purview of scholars. Imam Shafii (rha) in his ar Risala indicated that a certain level of ilm ( the deen in particular, but in all aspects of life) is required for all people, individually ( fardh ayn). He indicated that each individual Muslim must have knowledge of required matters in the Deen. We non-ulama must engage in lifting up the Ummah to that higher level of knowledge- collective intelligence of Islam if you will. In which masjid do people leave gaps in the front line?

It is more appropriate to follow the Hukm Sharii in terms of Duah. In that sense, a man can have more than one wife at one time according to what Allah has commanded, whereas Allah did NOT command that a woman can have more than one husband at one time.

As in all matters of the Deen, we follow the original rule of the Divine Law unless it specifically grants us variation.

And Allah knows best.

I've asked your query to a Mufti and also have shown the Arabic Du'a mentioned by the brother.

Mufti Sahab has said- Yes, you can.
