Wa 'alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,
I am from Birmingham and my shaykh is Shaykh Tauqeer Chaudhary sahib, hafidhahuAllah. He is a khalifah of Shaykh Zulfiqar Sahib, hafidhahuAllah. Mashaa Allah he is from the UAE but comes to the UK often and has gatherings in Birmingham especially when he does come. He has a lot of mureeds here in the UK. Visit his website: http://www.sanctifiedtrust.org/ui/default.aspx If not him I can suggest Shaykh Kamaluddin Ahmed Both are Deobandi and have gone through formal alim programs. Wassalam. |

May Allah give you a sheikh which is full of true knowledge of Islam and will benefit you in all aspects. Can you tell me akhi, are there such sheikhs available who can be like a spiritual guide (i.e. someone who can help you spiritually, through naseeha and listening to your internal issues)? I've never come across them. Most of those I know are too busy and I feel ashamed to trouble them with more than which they can handle. Examples please of some who will? Not trying to derail the thread but actually further emphasise your question for any sufi sheikhs (except I would like mine from deobandi hanafi tablighi like hasan ali). ![]() What I meant was, I heard some Shuyukh review their mureeds progress every week or month or whatever, sometimes through email (just general stuff like whether you prayed in jamaat, kept to all the dhikr, etc). I like the sound of that but it's not necessary as long as I get some benefit from this insha Allah. ![]() Thanks sister Saalikah, I'll check the link and enquire further on here when I have done so ![]() |

He gives you some ma'moolat to do and you have a record sheet which you email to Shaykh Sahib weekly explaining how the ma'moolat is going on, if you have any issues in your spirituality you mention it to him and he gives you advice. Sometimes he might be busy, but you are still included in his duaas inshaa Allah. When he comes to the UK, since you are a brother you can spend time with him and serve him. Inshaa Allah that can help as well. He is very humble and mostly treats his students very softly, even when he scolds he is calm and he is very concerned. I find it amazing how he lowers himself. I don't know how it's like on the brother's side but I guess they would get direct tarbiyyah from him. ![]() ![]() I'll look into this ![]() |

Bismihee Ta'aala
Asalamualaikum I am not bayah to Shaykh Tauqeer (my shaykh is some-one else in another tareeqa), but I would def. recommend Shaykh Tauqeer. He is really devoted to his students and is quick to respond. Def. recommend him especially if you are looking for a Naqshbandi Shaykh. I wasn't even bayah to him, but he always responded to my emails and even called me! Tell me what you are looking for and insha Allah would love to help. |

Where are you from. bro? ![]() Birmingham bro (although I'm always switching from here to my uni which is in a different city, and I may move away for work purposes once the degree is over which is why I'm not too concerned about the location of the Shaykh as long as we have some type of contact for islah purposes, even if it is only through online media) @bro nike, I can't think of anything else to add (in terms of what I'm looking for) other than what I have put in the OP, just kinda desperate to get started on this stuff... your post was very helpful to me bro, ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Salaam ![]() Brother if you're in Birmingham I would advise you to go and spend some time in Sheikh Bahauddin Sayed Sahib's company who is in Birmingham. He is a Khalifa of Hazrat Maulana Naeemullah Farooqi Sahib DB who in turn is a Khalifa of Hazrat Murshid-e-Alam Pir Ghulam Habib Sahib (RA). Sheikh Bahauddin Sahib set up the Al-Habib trust in memory of Hazrat Murshid-e-Alam (RA). From the very brief meeting I had with him he was strict on sunnah. Mufti Javed Sahib on this forum is the Imam at the Al-Habib trust so could probably advise more (correct me if I'm wrong). |

Being in the company of a kamil sheikh should be your aim, people used to go and spend years and years in khanqah's in the company of their sheikhs. |
