Sorry brother, I am involved in this field and these are conspiracy theories. These things are proved false in a system like that present in the Uk I.e. the NHS, where these companies can't make that much money from the public in general.
Case for example would be the MMR jab and Autism link, many parents believed this hype while the majority of medical professionals were adamant otherwise. It transpires all these people did by not listening to medical professionals is putting their children at risk. Some of the accusations in the video are however true but these things are also true for all big corporations in any field. Even the pharma companies are in it to make money and they will do whatever it takes, e.g. Company making gaviscon profited by delaying the release of the generic version of it by delaying what name was to be used (now raft forming alginates). The NHS pays Big Pharma for use of drugs....big corporations like to deal with a few big buyers instead of thousands of small independent buyers it makes their business easier. The autism link where a doctor was struck off the medical register is not as clean cut as you imagine. Big money is involved, doctors are educated by insiders, big pharma is involved in training doctors....it is like a giant Church which maintains its priesthood..anyone who threatens to go along their own path is ex-communicated or declared a kafir and struck off the medical register...why rock the boat...get rich, prescribe drugs and be happy is a easy attitude to fall into.

The NHS mostly uses and encourages doctors to prescribe generic drugs, and big companies have to go and fight court cases to try and get the NHS to use their drugs (see recent UK news coverage about Novartis and an eye drug).
Big pharma companies are FOR PROFIT organisation not charities. It takes them literally hundreds of millions of pounds to discover and bring a drug to market, brother a lot of the times this is maybe half a billion pounds for one single drug to be available in the market, and like I said these companies are not charities. As it stands, doctors are very reluctant to prescribe branded meds. They are constrained in their own budgets. Very soon the patent of Lipitor will expire, watch how all the doctors switch their simvastatin patients to generic Lipitor (atorvastatin). so where would you say their devotion to their church will go then? It is easy for people who don't know to buy the hype but a lot of the time it causes only hurt to the very same people or worse their children. Salam Saqqib |

I thought this article was quite interesting http://www.morganlewis.co.uk/index.c...b-963a334fb63d and the title of this one made me laugh out loud - I didn't know it was so bad http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2007...l.mainsection1 Anyway salaams Sunniforum for a while as I have some less interesting things to do than talk about Islam for a while ![]() ![]() |

All I can say is this stuff doesn't go on in the UK. Pharma companies are not even allowed to hand out free pens now.
Funny stuff might happen in the US but that's just a totally capitalist society where even healthcare is a comodity. Developing countries have their own problems, people expect doctors to be saints but these people have had to spend a lot of money, I mean serious amounts for the studies and this includes things like paying bribes to universities etc... And spending long hours studying etc... And not earning anything. And even They aren't charities. This is the real world, if they are around people and Ian society where dishonesty is common, why would these people volunteer not to take part just because they are doctors. My concern is that a patient might not take a crucial med because it contains aspartame, e.g. A diabetes med, their sugar goes all out of control and they fall terminally I'll, e.g. Coma. [edit]" The studies provide no evidence to support an association between aspartame and cancer in any tissue. The weight of existing evidence is that aspartame is safe at current levels of consumption as a nonnutritive sweetener" Saqqib |

Yes Big Pharma spend allot of money on Research & Development when making new drugs, but obviously after spending all this money they need to generate profits...what would be the use of having drugs that no one needs or uses. The video in the OP says they need people to take the drugs all the time. The drugs usually have many bad side effects and they suppress the symptoms they do not cure the disease...usually the disease is caused by diet and lifestyle. If the food producers gave us healthy natural nutritious foods we would have fewer diseases and if the work life was less stressful, less fast there would be greater health. Modern life pushes people into stressful work, mortgage payments, debts, taxes, traffic jams...long work hours all contribute to illness. No doctor will mention any of these things because they would upset many people. The NHS is not very good considering the money that it uses...small scale hospitals where patients get good care are more likely to contribute to the recovery of the patient than a Big Hospital with no gardens and just traffic noise and massive wards. Recovery needs good quiet wards, good food, access to the sounds of nature, birds, wind and water holistically.
