I was on YouTube and stumbled upon this video and I'm confused. Can anyone tell me why Sunni and Salafi's are always debating? Can they not come to agreement for the betterment of the Ummah? If this video is haram please delete it and forgive me for posting it. Thank you. |

Avoid these videos. These are made by a follower of Nazim Haqqani al-Qubrusi, who is known for promoting deviant views. There are differences between the Sunnis and the Salafis, yes, but they are not as huge as the mubtadi' like to point out, because it depends on the type of Salafi you're talking about. Some Salafis are takfeeris, some Salafis, are not. Some Salafis bow down to the West (e.g. Madkhalis), some Salafis have declared Muslims as non-Muslims. |

Be weary of those who exposes information to untrained and as such becomes the tool of fitan. The only group of people in current times who encouraged this are the La madhabist and unfortunatley some people are drawn to it and ended up adding fuel to fire for the ignorant.
None of these dabate is going to increase ones iman or even going to increase love of Allah and his Rasul for the laymen. So best thing to avoid them. Kutaa likes barking and can't help more so if they are untrained. Allahualam |

"Wahhabi" has turned into a derogatory term for anyone who is opposed to bid'ah, either rationally (i.e. calling a spade a spade, a bid'ah a bid'ah) or irrationally (i.e. calling mubah/permissible and even sunnah actions as bid'ah). The mubtadi'oon (those that innovate in the deen) like to throw that tern around at anyone that doesn't agree with them. Salafis are those that differ from Sunnis in two ways: they do not think it is necessary to follow a madhhab (ironically, many mubtadi'oon also do the exact same thing but get a pass) and they hold beliefs that are different from those held by the Sunni majority when it comes to, for example, the attributes of Allah . That is the basis of Salafism. Of course, there are dozens if not hundreds of different types of Salafis because once you say that following a madhhab is not necessary, then there are those who go to extremes while some stay moderate. |
