Default Getting marrried but not living together?
Assalaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,

These days more and more people are starting to do this: they get married but dont live with the husband/wife. For the ppl i know its mostly about visa, like they marry someone in their country of origin-most of the time its their cousin-and right after the marriage they come back to the west and apply for their new spouses visa. After getting the visa the husband/wife comes to the west, but the couple only start living together 3or5yrs after the original date of marriage. So my question is: Is this all right?

Bcuz some of the ppl do not know the person theyre marrying as the weddings are arranged so they dont keep in touch during the seperation. And the merits of marriage are not being enjoyed, like you have no children, you are not free from committing zina(since ur not living together) and youre not enjoying eachothers company, but you are still married so you cant fall in love with another person (for girls), you have to be loyal to your spouse (even tho u dont know them very well) and its too late to change ur mind(whos knows what could happen in 3/5yrs time)

So wouldnt that be a burden in the persons life? i mean whats the point of gettting married if ur not even getting the benefits of marriage but are still limited by its restrictions? Anyways, this is just my point of view, what does islam say about this?

Wassalaam

Usually the couple spend a month or two with their partner before moving back to start the visa procedure. I agree that it would be better if couples married from the same country but try explaining that to the the grandad/mums.
