 Question about Sealskinz socks for wudhu
Salaams
I ordered an ultra thin lite pair but was sent this instead http://www.outdoorgb.com/p/sealskinz..._length_socks/ They have been updated and include merino wool. I just wonder if these are warmer than the original ones and if it's better to source the older version for use in summer. Jzk |

 I was wondering about the same for the "Activity socks" (with Merino Wool); I was given a pair as gift.. I mean, do all the socks of the "sealskinz" line are fine for masah? Or just the "wudu'" ones? http://www.sealskinz.com/wudhu |

The Activity socks you are referring to have apparently replaced the older style. I was sent these instead. They seem quite thick but ive never seen the original ones in real to compare.

What I'm wondering about is if all of them are allowed for masah, or, if not, which "model" is fine for masah. Anyone may help? |

If I'm not mistaken, Mufti Ismail Moosa saheb did research on the sealskinz socks. Maybe br Umar can contact him? |

I have never heard of socks being used for wudhu, what is the purpose and what exactly do you do with them?

Important reply from Mufti Ismail Moosa Sahab:
"Wa'alaykum as Salam, The verdict which we gave regarding the permissibilty of wiping on Sealskinz was given at least 3 years back. Just after that, we found new models of Sealskinz coming out; many of which does not fulfill the conditions of masah. Thus, by a sock merely being from the Sealskinz company, it does not necessarily mean that it will be permissible to wipe upon them by default. Rather, each type would have to be tested independantly. And Allah Ta'ala knows best. Wassalam, [Mufti] Ismail [Moosa]" |

Important reply from Mufti Ismail Moosa Sahab: "Jazakallahu khayran! Do you remember which was the model on which you conducted your tests?". Reply from Mufti Sahab: "Assalamu alaykum, We done the research towards the end of 2008. Thus, whichever models were out till then were all compliant. It is only after that that we were amde aware of newer versions. [Mufti Ismail Moosa]". |
