The site masud.co.uk has articles by Shaykh Nuh Keller, so i thought it was trustworthy and i only found out about the site from sunniforums, however this article's kinda confused me, i thought The Omnipresence of the Prophet pbuh was a deviant barelwi belief. So is it a belief of the majority of muslims and who is behind masud.co.uk? |

Assalam o 'alaykum,
G.F Haddad holds same beliefs as Barelwis. He is very fond of Ahmad Rida Khan and recommends his works. If anyone cares about his iman, he should avoid G.F. Haddad. At times it seem like he translates stuff from Barelwi books and publishes under his name. As far as hadhir nadhir issue, it says in Fatawa Alamgiri: تزوج رجل امرأة ولم يحضر الشهود وقال خدائے را ورسول را گواه كردم او قال خدائے راوفرشتگان راه گواه كردم يكفر ولم قال فرشته دست راست را گواه كردم وفرشته دست چپ راه گواه كردم لا يكفر "If a man did nikah without any witnesses and he said 'I make Allah and his Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) my witnesses,' or he says “I make Allah’s Messenger my witness,' or he says “I make Allah and his angels my witnesses,' then such an individual will become a kafir. If he says I make the angels on my right and left sides (Kiraman Katibin) as my witnesses then he will not be a kafir [because both these angels are present]." And 'Allamah ibn Nujaym writes, قال علمائنا من قال ارواح المشائخ حاضره تعلم يكفر "Our 'ulama have said that if a person says that souls of mashaykh are present and they know, he is a kafir." Qadhi Thana Allah Panipati, a Naqashbandi Mujaddidi Sufi master who was the lhalifah of Mirza Mazhar Jan-i-Jan and one of the leading students of Shah Wali Allah Muhaddith Dahlawi, writes: “Juristic issue: If any person says that Allah Most High and His prophet are witness in a certain act, then that person becomes a kafir because such a person has regarded the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) as the knower of the unseen (‘alim al-ghayb). The awliya of Allah do not have the ability or power to bring a non-existent thing into existence nor to make an existing thing non-existent. Hence, to relate to them the power of bringing into existence and taking out of existence, sustenance, granting of children, removing and averting illness and hardships, etc. is an act of kufr. Don't speak too loud! Seems like we agree on a lot of things, brother woeuntothee ![]() I think my approach is mainly due to the fact that I've been raised in the west, and I manage to look at these issues in a more unbiased prespective. Of course, I would never go as far as saying that I recommend Sh. Ahmad Rida Khan's work. |

@bro umar ![]() I wanted to make a point because sometimes I've noticed this behaviour in some brothers from the Subcontinent, that when they find a single scholar from outside (especially if he's an arab scholar), they give utmost importance to what he says whoever he is, and if they find out that he seems to agree with Barelwis on a determinate subject, they either make of this a proof (if they are Barelwi themselves), or get worried and panic as if that means that the whole world is Barelwi. Perfection doesn't lie in nationality, neither in being from the Subcontinent in itself, nor in being from the Arab world, nor in being from Africa nor from the West or from Indonesia or wherever. "Perfection" lies in following the correct understanding of Din, whoever have it. And Allah Ta'ala knows best. |
