Salaamu alaiykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu
I would like to give a reminder to everyone, including myself, and please correct me if I'm wrong. A true believer is an amazing and true man (or woman for the sisters). He (or she) is very merciful and soft in front of his brothers (or sisters), such that you would think he is the weakest and easy going among you, and he is very strong and strict against the enemies of their islamic brothers and sisters and the deen, such that you would think he is the most powerful amongst you. Many seem to get these mixed up. Some of us seem to like being very strong and challenging towards our brothers (speaking from experience - I've seen people behave very dominant and look at you in a way as if they are challenging you for a fight) and very cowardly and weak towards the enemies of our brothers and sisters and the deen (although we claim we will defend them). That is actually the characteristic of a coward in my book. If someone behaves really tough and pushes those around who love him and would overlook his behaviours and would not dare like to see him hurt, and behaves very nice and respectful towards someone else who pushes him around, who doesn't love him and would love to hurt him, that is a definition of a coward to even the disbelievers. We have to really fix this behaviour (and most of us don't realise that we actually do this) and redefine ourself. May Allah remove the diseases from our heart. ![]() |
