Default Google Account got suspended

I never realized just how much is tied in to Google. It’s not just Gmail. Blogger used to be a separate service. So was YouTube. FaceBook was something I should never have linked to my Google Account (logging in by Gmail account). PicasaWeb originally didn’t belong to Google.

Google started acquiring them gradually... Eventually they asked to link to my facebook account, which I stupidly agreed to.

Now Google does something to you, and everything else goes down as well! I should have kept the services separate! moved my blogs elsewhere, used separate accounts to access FaceBook and Youtube, hosted my pics on other places than Picasaweb!

I’m down to my ancient yahoo account (dating back to 1994), hardly used now, and my Twitter account which I hardly bother with because I just don’t get it.

Never let a monolithic service run everything you have. Disperse and separate everything! Email, Photo hosting, Youtube account, Blogging, everything on separate services. Don't put all the eggs in one basket, or the Swedish Chef will bork all the way.

Thats really sad, have you ever made use of the 'disposable email addresses' in yahoo? thats a really wonderful feature they have, at one point in time, i did use many services and almost all were linked to my gmail account, until i started getting spam. now i'm using yahoo much more than gmail, again its also an old account 11-12 years old. the disposable feature I think is now no longer available for the new account holders, but i'm not very sure.

Yahoo is terrible. You should get Hotmail/Live...along with SkyDrive for which Microsoft gives you 7 GB free online storage (I was an early adopter and just got upgraded to 25 GB. Sweet.), plus Office online. It's a good package, although I still prefer Gmail.

SugarSync also offers free online storage (5 GB). DropBox, too. iCloud if you have a Mac with Lion OS. When my hdd crashed the other day, I was so glad I had my files backed up.

Yahoo Mail is really good, don't know about its other services, all those you've talked about are linked to my yahoo account (disposable email id's)
