I find that SF members, mostly new, create threads asking the same questions, discussing the same topics over and over again.

Gross waste of time.
Yours and mine.

There's actually a neat little search trick within Shaykh Google that I request everybody to make use of.

Here's how it goes:

1. Visit your browser search bar or PHP Code: www.google.com
(In Google Chrome, Opera & Firefox browsers, the address bar doubles up as a search bar, doesn't matter).

2. And now, for example if you want to read on the Status Of Women In Islam, all you need to do is type:

Examples:
PHP Code: 'status of women in islam' site:sunniforum.com
This will bring up search for those terms all WITHIN sunniforum.com website, leaving out all other websites.


PHP Code: 'maulana arshad madani' site:sunniforum.com




' (apostrophe) and NOT " (quotation mark)
: (colon)

Trick 2: Want to search for all images posted within sunniforum.com ??

1. Visit images.google.com

2. Type PHP Code: site:sunniforum.com
within the search bar, this is really worthwhile.

Trick 3: Want to search for ALL mp3, wma, mp4, zip files posted within on sunniforum.com?? Note that not all audio files need to be encoded in mp3, other popular formats are wma & rm among others.

2. Type

@Aftab, yes, we can just type in sunniforum.com without the www, I have used both. I have been using it too, just that I find too many threads discussing the same topics, so..

Yup. I too use google often to search the forums. Its finds more results.


Also to search a keyword within a single thread one can view the thread in archive mode by using a url like this:
http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/arch...p/t-78775.html

Just change the Thread no: for different threads, eg above the no: is 78775, to view this thread in archive mode change it to- 80917. The whole thread is shown in a single page and the keyword can be easily searched within the browser (eg: Ctrl+F for firefox).

I m not sure if it works in the mobile versions. Well when you are in PC, the url should look like this:

@itajamulrahman, thats very helpful man whats more, does it mean that there are only 5 threads with the titles having the terms 'status of women in islam' very very surprising.

@all, the mods still don't think this thread is worth a sticky surprising, if implemented, this'll most probably reduce their work...
